Motorola Defy

Motorola’s super tough Android smartphone, the Defy, is getting an update to Android 2.2 (FroYo) in the UK!
Vodafone customers in the UK will be able to update their Motorola Defy handsets right now from Android 2.1 (Eclair) to Android 2.2 (FroYo).
Motorola made the announcement via its Motorola Europe Facebook page, stating “Motorola DEFY users in the UK on the Vodafone network can now update their devices to Android 2.2 (Froyo)”

While HTC is doing a doubletake today, Motorola is gifting defy owners with a much longed-for 2.2 Froyo update.  The 32.177.3 build of the Defy OS increases phone performance with a snappier UI, improved memory management for applications, and faster web browsing.  It comes packaged with the update.  You’ll also see an updated keyboard, and many more features with this update.

Motorola has released the Android 2.2 Froyo update for Defy, making it even better purchase. Last time we talked about it, Amazon UK offered Moto’s rugged smartphone for 251.99 GBP sans any long-term commitments. Among many things users get, we find improved Microsoft Exchange support, faster browser, mobile hotspot capability and Adobe Flash support
